  • Test Procedure

A sequence of activities that when executed successfully provides documentary evidence that part of the system works as specified.
  • Test Procedure

(IEEE) Detailed instructions for the set-up, execution and evaluation of results for a given test case.
  • Test Procedure

(NIST) A formal document developed from a test plan that presents detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and evaluation of the results for each defined test.
  • Test Protocol

(ASTM) A definitive procedure for the identification, measurement, and evaluation of a material, product, system, or service that produces a test result.
  • Test Readiness Review (1)

(IEEE) A review conducted to evaluate preliminary test results for one or more configuration items; to verify that the test procedures for each configuration item are complete, comply with test plans and descriptions, and satisfy test requirements; and to verify that a project is prepared to proceed to formal testing of the configuration items.
  • Test Readiness Review (2)

A review as in definition (1) for any hardware or software component.
  • Test Report

(IEEE) A document describing the conduct and results of the testing carried out for a system or system component.
  • Test Result Analyzer

A software tool used to test output data reduction, formatting, and printing.
  • Test Run

    A series of test cycles.
  • Test Run

Operating a machine, process, or system for the identification, measurement, and evaluation of a material, product, system, or service that produces a test result.
  • Test Script

(IEEE) Documentation that specifies a sequence of actions for the execution of a test.
  • Test Scripts

Describes (scripts out) the step-by-step process for executing a test case. Describes the expected system response to each individual step and contains a place to log and explain the pass/fail status of the executed test.
  • Test Specification

A document that describes the scope, management, use of procedures, sequencing, test environment, and prerequisites for a specific phase of testing.
  • Test Strategy

  • Test Tube

Tube in which cells, tissues, etc., can be cultured.
  • Testability

The degree to which a requirement is stated in terms that permit establishment of test criteria and performance of tests to determine whether those criteria have been met.
  • Testability

(IEEE) The degree to which a system or component facilitates the establishment of test criteria and the performance of tests to determine whether those criteria have been met.
  • Testausrüstung

  • Testfall (IEEE)

  • Testing

Process by which adjustments to, and regulation of, individual systems are demonstrated as within the required tolerances, system components are demonstrated as delivering the required capacity or duty, the functions of the system are demonstrated as delivering the required capacity of duty, the functions of the system are demonstrated to be as specified and appropriate.
  • Testing

(IEEE) The process of exercising or evaluating a system or system component by manual or automated means to verify that it satisfies specified requirements or to identify differences between expected and actual results.
  • Testing

The process of analyzing a software item to detect the differences between existing and required conditions, i.e. bugs, and to evaluate the features of the software items. (also see: Dynamic Analysis, Static Analysis, Software Engineering)
  • Testing Plan

(CMC-BWG) A determination as to whether routine monitoring, characterization testing, in process monitoring, stability testing, or no testing is conducted as a part of the overall control strategy.
  • Testing Plane

Cross-sectional area for testing or measuring the airflow velocity, usually set up in air supply ducts or downstream of final filters or air diffusers in an installation.
  • Testing Sequence

Logical and ordered timing of testing activities in relation to the other deliverables of a project.
